MK-9 Legacy Special Edition Series
A special highlight awaits you at the end of the MK-9 Legacy series.
Already during the initial planning of the MK-9 Legacy, it became clear that there would also be a very exclusive special series of only 13 pieces per model, which would differ not only in the handle scales, but also in the finish and presentation. For this purpose, Lionsteel supplied the required knives unfinished and in individual parts. The knives were then machined in Germany by various manufacturing specialists with whom Pohl Force has been working for many years.
The individual production steps were planned with the utmost care and then implemented under the personal supervision of Dietmar Pohl. The result is a unique small series that once again honors the First Blood anniversary in Hope, B.C. Canada 2022 in a special way.
During the realization of the 1 of 13 series, however, it quickly became clear that the two-tone version of the series in particular would generate enormous enthusiasm among loyal Pohl Force customers. The production effort for this model is enormously complex. In response to many customer requests, Pohl Force has therefore planned an extension of the series in spring 2025, which will be released under the name MK-9 Raven and is limited to 25 pieces. This is also an extremely small series that deliberately dispenses with the very expensive presentation in a Peli case. Instead, a collector's pouch from the USA, limited to just 25 pieces, will be used, featuring exclusive embroidery. Of course, it is still possible to obtain the MK-9 Raven in a Peli Case on request.
Due to the high level of craftsmanship involved in the realization of the series, the knives bear the classic POHL logo instead of POHL FORCE, which is otherwise only reserved for Pohl Force Custom Knives.
The production of this model presented Pohl Force with major challenges, particularly in the high-gloss polishing of Niolox steel.
The project was supported by the expertise of German knifemaker Jürgen Schanz from Stutensee. With his many years of experience, he gave the blades the desired surface finish. Pohl Force also broke new ground when it came to masking the blade bevel to give it the desired and spectacular two-tone surface after blasting. Even small errors require the entire blade machining process to be restarted.
The result speaks for itself. As a long-standing partner of Pohl Force, the Solingen-based company L-Tec Brabender was responsible for both the blasting and the blade lasering. Finally, the blades were given a cutting bevel by Thomas Nohl (Messerschmiede Nohl) from Giessen.
The CNC-milled scales made of green Micarta complete the special appearance. The knife and the Italian leather sheath from Radar 1957 are presented in a tactical, olive green Peli case. Foam inserts specially manufactured in Germany ensure safe and organized storage of the knife and accessories on two levels. An engraved plaque on the outside of the Peli case discreetly refers to the exclusive series and the serial number. In addition to the lobby cards and the certificate, the set also includes a photograph by designer Dietmar Pohl, which was taken in 2022 at the original location of First Blood in British Columbia, Canada. Individually signed for each knife, of course.
Overall length 386 mm, blade length 230 mm, blade thickness 6, 2 mm, weight 480 g, blade steel Niolox, handle material Canvas Composite (green). Leather sheath with Eze-Lap diamond sharpener and leg strap.
The black version of the MK-9 Legacy gives the knife a completely different look that is usually associated with military knives. Dark and dangerous. Cerakote has been a tried and tested method of coating blades in the knife scene for years. Here too, Pohl Force was able to rely on a German company that has been using this coating process for tactical weapons very successfully for years: German Gun Works, based in Alpstadt. Due to the saw teeth or screwdrivers and the challenges that arise during coating, it was necessary to test and implement new processes. The handle scales are made of black G-10 to match the black blade. The knife and the Italian leather sheath from Radar 1957 are presented in a tactical black Peli case.

Raven was the tactical callsign of the ex-Green Beret in Vietnam and therefore fits well with the series.
Based on the classic MACV-SOG crest, Pohl Force developed a special Raven logo as a tribute to the elite fighters from Vietnam, which can be found as a special laser engraving on the blade.
In addition, the Raven logo was produced as an exclusive patch by a renowned Berlin company using high-quality weaving technology. As with the MK-9 Legacy 1 of 13, the blade was elaborately finished with the spectacular two-tone surface in Germany. In keeping with the Raven theme, the handle scales are milled from black G-10. The MK-9 Raven series is limited to just 25 pieces.
The individual serial number can be found on the back of the blade. This unique knife is presented in a collector's pouch specially manufactured by Robins Custom Cases - USA.
